Let lenders promote their own conferences, OK?

This bugs me: a promotional item in a HUD listserv, the "HUD national homeownership center reference guide mailing list for real estate industry professionals," promoting a reverse mortgage lenders' conference scheduled for May. Happens some HUD officials will be speaking there, but that doesn't make it a HUD event. It says the conference "offers an opportunity to learn the latest Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) information and meet the policy makers who are shaping the future of the HECM business."

Think it was Mencken who said the only way a journalist should look at a politician is down. That's the only way a public official should look at a real estate lender, no?
