Democrats defending rural housing?

Well, maybe the rural-oriented Housing Assistance Council are just trying to be hopeful, or maybe they know something more than they're saying: in their March 31 newsletter (full of other good stuff as usual) they're headlining, "Congress Pushes Back on Rural Housing Cuts." Except, read further, and it's two Congressional Democrats doing the pushing: Sam Farr of California and Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut, both speaking up in an Agriculture appropriations subcommittee hearing about fear that USDA Rural Housing may be about to fizzle. At least they say "No subcommittee members spoke in favor of the cuts."
