Racism, high desert style

The above photo is from an RV park near the fairgrounds in Fall River Mills, Shasta County, California. Both of the red-lettered signs appear in Spanish only. The more distant one says, "Ninguna Musica Ni Beber Fuertes En El Parque" (sic).

Fall River Mills is otherwise a very lovely place, q.v. below.

  1. It took me a while to figure out that these advisories against loud music or drinking in the park were posted only in Spanish. Then I realized how discriminatory it was.

I remember in a coffee house I used to go to had a sign in the bathroom advising (in Spanish) to keep the bathroom clean. The place was also frequented by day laborers. A couple of days later, a similar sign in English was also posted.
