Sit-Lie: nothing new in SF vagrancy law

The SF Bay Guardian reports on the prior 1960s civil rights history of laws against sitting or lying on the sidewalk. Had realized some past "loitering"-type laws were repealed or declared unconstitutional, but hadn't realized how close an old 1960s ordinance was. Gay and hippie activists defeated it last time. This time around, gay activists are among those organizing protests in memory of Harvey Milk, timed for his May 22 birthday, against the current law against sitting or lying on the sidewalk.
