Lives have directions other than work

Look, you already know it's called "Moving to Work." Of course it's a condescending, class-bound social engineering scheme to manipulate people who have dull awful jobs. Of course it's for the benefit of their employers, more or less at the employees' expense, to the painful detriment of the unemployed and disabled.

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities has been birddogging it for at least five years. It still doesn't work that great. And now there's a move to expand it.

Because regular public housing is still doing too much to keep too much of a floor under the worst job people find it worthwhile to accept.
