The Chron hides its best, as usual

Here's the SF Chronicle's Kevin Fagan with a kind obituary for Little Bit, a hard-living news source for a series he wrote several years ago, with whom he had the decency to keep in touch. He writes that she was living indoors, and doing way better, but could have recovered all the way if she hadn't died of kidney failure at age 40.

And here's the Chronicle's C.W. Nevius with barely qualified praise for the cops' harassment of Occupy SF.

Which writer is presented the Chronicle's star columnist? And which of these two articles appears as an online-only blog item, as though it wasn't the sort of writing that matters?

[OK, to be fair, they gave a version of the obit a full page in the magazine section on Sunday.]
