"The tyranny of the homestead vision"

Housing analyst David Smith suggests we lack many useful forms of congregate housing because of post-WWII social engineering through zoning prudery.

Thoughtful article. Just one phrase to quarrel with: "At its most fundamental level, a home is the place you return to sleep at night, and where you keep and protect your valuables and your loved ones." Loved ones aren't possessions.
