Vacation homes blur rural housing figures

Via @dpelletiere, here's a @ruralhome (Housing Assistance Council) report with ironic news: nearly half the rural housing units noted as "vacant" in conventional statistics are actually shuttered vacation or seasonal homes. So, in a mountain ski area, it might look statistically like there was enough housing to go around, but practically that might be false because the seasonal visitors' chalets wouldn't be for rent to year-round residents.
