Just went by the Caffe Trieste outpost on Market at Gough. Closed. Their Web site shows an event calendar ending June 10 and says, "Due to the sale of the building, this Caffe Trieste will be closing its doors Monday afternoon (around 2pm)."
Sad, and a drag for that part of Market Street.
Trieste was part of a little node of "there" there that was starting to form on that part of upper Market, what with Zuni Cafe up the way, and Trieste, and the Green Arcade bookstore, and Chris Daly's Buck Tavern... and out of the four places I've listed, Trieste was the easiest by far for a stranger to just walk into.
