I think a lot of the talk about Rep. Akin's "legitimate rape" comment has been merely skimming the surface of some deep and nasty waters. Very possibly, Akin was questioning whether women are entitled to claim their own justice for their own injuries because of their own subjective experiences. More fundamentally, he was questioning whether they are citizens.
