So I guess in Saturday's post, fortunately, I overestimated the worry about evacuations from New York City. But there seem to be worries enough otherwise.
Heard from a concerned relative about a recently hospitalized 85-year-old lady who rode out the storm in her high-rise home OK -- but now, because there's water around the building, her home care worker can't get in to help her.
It isn't hoity-toity to complain that service workers can't get in to help people in their homes. Where disability and frailty are concerned, lack of access to caregivers is a serious problem.
Is anyone on this over there?
