The Cassandras of the crash

Yet another time when a female financial expert said a plan wouldn't work, and the boys said phooey:

Sheila Bair. HAMP. It tanked. Just like she said it would.

BTW, interesting new term in the comments thread on the article: "the legacy parties". Not to say I agree fully with the commenter's ideas -- he seems pretty anti-electoral-politics to an extent that strikes me as self-defeating -- but, well, it's a thought-provoking term. Used to mean, apparently, the big institutional manifestations of the Democrats and the Republicans. "The legacy parties." Huh.
